Ustick Road Concept Design, from Eagle Road to Five Mile Road. The Ada County Highway District (ACHD) is conducting a Concept Design for Ustick Road between Five Mile and Eagle Road. The concept design seeks to accommodate future traffic volumes, improve connectivity and increase the overall safety of Ustick Road by evaluating vehicular, bike and pedestrian options. ACHD presented to the Boise City Council on Tuesday 1/26/10 at noon and then will have a working session on 2/17/10 at 10:30 am and an evening public hearing on 2/24/10. Based on the responses we have received from our Board members, we have vacancies in Districts 1, 3, 4, 5 and 6. Since we have three Board members in District 2, we have room for two in either District 1 or 3.

WVNA Annual Meeting Scheduled
The West Valley Neighborhood Association announces the scheduling of their regular Annual Business Meeting and Election of Officers. The meeting will be held at:

Exciting and important things are happening in the West Valley neighborhood. An open forum will be conducted to learn the most critical issues in the minds of the residents of the West Valley. (See map below to determine area covered by Association.) Speakers will address the major transportation projects in the neighborhood, neighborhood policing and neighborhood watch activities, as well as general Planning and Development and Public Works issues affecting the neighborhood. A number of community leaders and agency technical staff members will be present to make formal presentations or discuss their programs with audience members immediately prior to the beginning of the formal program. Handouts will be available to be picked up.

The West Valley Neighborhood Assoc. is conducting its annual membership drive. Now is the time to renew your active membership for 2010. An application can be copied from the WVNA website at - http://www.westvalleyboise.org/. For the low fee of only $10.00 per household, residents can be kept informed of planning activities and development proposals in their neighborhood through the WVNA newsletter.
This notice amends the FY2009-2013 and FY2010-2014 Regional Transportation Improvement Programs (TIPs) with additional
projects. Proposed projects for the possible Jobs for Main Street Act of 2010 are provided for public comment and will be
added to the TIPs under an "illustrative" category, meaning funding is not certain for any of the proposed projects.
This notice also removes projects in the "illustrative" category proposed for the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act
of 2009 that will be not be funded.

Boise Parks & Recreation invites the public to attend comprehensive plan neighborhood meetings in February. The meetings will be held from 6-8 p.m. by planning area:
Feb. 1 - Southwest -- Grace Jordan Community Center, 6411 W. Fairfield Ave.
Feb. 3 - Southeast -- Key Bank, 875 E. ParkCenter Blvd.
Feb. 4 - North River -- Boise City Hall, City Council Chambers, 150 S. Capitol Blvd.
Feb. 8 - West Bench -- Morley Nelson Community Center, 7701 W. Northview St.
Feb. 9 - Central Bench -- Grace Jordan Community Center, 6411 W. Fairfield Ave.
At the meetings, project leaders Doug Holloway, superintendent of recreation, and Cheyne Weston, park development coordinator, will
provide an overview of the Boise Parks & Recreation comprehensive plan, results of a citizen survey, details about the department's Capital
Improvement Plan and other information relevant to each neighborhood. Participants will then be asked to join planning coordinators for
breakout sessions about neighborhood amenities.
The 2010 Boise Parks & Recreation System Comprehensive Plan is a broad-based, citizen-driven directive that presents the vision and
guiding principles, issues and opportunities for the Boise Parks & Recreation Department for the next five years. The plan covers a broad
range of issues -- from parks, open space and natural areas to community centers, picnic shelters, swimming pools, health & wellness initiatives,
recreation programming, environmental sustainability, partnerships and funding.
